How do valuations work?
You photograph an item, and our AI identifies its brand, model, era, and condition. The value estimate is then grounded in real completed sales from eBay, Mercari, and other marketplaces — not guesses — and presented as a low/mid/high range. Accuracy depends on how many comparable sales exist: common items typically have high confidence, while rare or unusual items may have wider ranges.
Is this a professional appraisal?
No. WhatsWorth provides estimates for personal use — great for garage sales, decluttering, estate clean-outs, or curiosity. For insurance, legal, or tax purposes, consult a certified appraiser.
How do I get the most accurate results?
Add up to 3 photos per item — clear, well-lit shots give the AI more to work with and improve identification and valuation. The AI may also ask you follow-up questions to pin down details that affect the estimate, so answering them helps narrow the range.
Where is my inventory stored? How does cloud sync work?
Your item inventory is stored locally on your device. If you sign in with Google or Apple, it syncs to your account so it's available across devices — and you can toggle sync on or off anytime. Photos you submit for appraisal are processed in real time by cloud-based AI services and are not permanently stored on our servers. See our privacy policy for details.
Do I need an account? How many free appraisals do I get?
No account is required — you get 5 free appraisals anonymously. Creating a free account (Google or Apple sign-in) gives you 10 appraisals per month and enables cloud sync. For unlimited appraisals, subscriptions start at $2.99/week, $4.99/month, or $29.99/year.
How do I manage, cancel, or restore my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account and auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Because the purchase is tied to your store account, reinstalling the app on a device signed into the same Apple ID or Google account restores your subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google.
How do I delete my account?
You can request permanent deletion of your account — your profile, cloud-synced inventory, and cloud-backed image thumbnails — on our account deletion page. Deletion is completed within 30 days. Items stored locally on your device are not affected, and you can keep using the app anonymously afterward.
