The short version

Sand Sort Studio: Color Puzzle is a single-player puzzle game for Android by LightPath Apps LLC. It has no ads, accounts, analytics, tracking or chat. Levels 1 to 50 and every daily puzzle are free. One optional in-app purchase, made through Google Play, unlocks levels 51 to 500. Your puzzle progress stays on your phone and in Android's optional backup. Google processes purchases and technical billing information as described below; the game does not send your puzzle save to LightPath.

What the game keeps on your phone

The game saves your progress in its own private storage on your phone:

  • levels solved and the stars earned on each
  • unfinished attempts, so you can pick up where you left off
  • a short list of the levels and daily puzzles you played most recently
  • the dates on which you solved a daily puzzle
  • journal totals, such as pours, sand poured, hints taken and pours undone
  • your settings, such as sound, music, haptics, "Play in silent mode", pour speed, reduced motion, color symbols, stars, the pour counter and your backdrop
  • whether the full game is unlocked on this phone, kept in a separate file that is never backed up
  • when you played recently, when the game last asked you for a review and whether you chose to write one, so it asks rarely, kept in a separate file that is never backed up

The game does not send any of this to LightPath, and LightPath cannot see it. Its sounds and artwork are built into the app.

The one-time unlock

Google Play handles the purchase. The game asks Google Play for the price, to make or restore the purchase, and whether you already own it. These steps need an internet connection. Everything else in the game works offline, including an unlock already saved on the phone.

Google Play tells the game, on your phone, whether you own the unlock. The game uses that answer to open the levels and remembers only that they are unlocked. It does not send your save or purchase details to LightPath, and LightPath never receives your payment card details.

Google gives LightPath a record of each sale. It may include an order number, the product, the price, the date, the buyer's country, state or province, city and postal code where Google provides them, and the model of the device used for the purchase. We use it for payouts, taxes, refunds and support. Google's billing software in the app also reports technical information about billing requests and connection problems to Google, to run and improve its billing service. Google handles accounts, payments, purchase records and that technical information under Google's privacy policy.

Uninstalling the game or clearing its data does not delete Google's record of your purchase. Reinstall with the same Google Account and connect to Google Play to restore an eligible purchase. Refunds are handled by Google Play. If Google Play reports that the unlock is no longer owned, access to the paid campaign levels closes; your saved puzzle progress is retained.

Permissions

The game asks Android for permission to vibrate, for optional haptic feedback. Google's billing software adds the permissions it needs to reach Google Play: billing, internet access and network state. The game does not ask for location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, notifications or an advertising identifier.

Android backup

If backup is turned on, Android's backup service can copy the game's save file to your Google Account, and nothing else from the game. This lets your progress come back when you reinstall the game or set up a new phone. When you copy data straight from an old phone to a new one, the save can travel the same way. The unlock is not part of the save, so a backup never carries it: your purchase is restored from Google Play.

Google provides and controls this service. Your phone's backup settings decide whether it happens, and Google stores and deletes backups under its own terms and privacy policy. LightPath cannot see, download or restore your backup. You can turn backup off in your phone's settings.

Deleting your data

To delete the game's data from your phone, uninstall the game or clear its storage in Android's settings (Settings, then Apps, then Sand Sort, then Storage). If backup is on, reinstalling may bring your progress back. A backup copy, if there is one, stays in your Google Account: your phone's settings let you turn backup off, and your Google Account lets you delete the phone's whole backup. LightPath holds no copy of your progress, so there is nothing for us to delete or recover. Google's purchase records follow Google's own policies.

Google Play

Google Play delivers and updates the game. Google may give LightPath aggregate statistics, such as install counts and ratings. It may also give us crash and performance reports from phones whose owners allow Android to share usage and diagnostic data with Google. Google collects this information under its own privacy policy. The game does not send it.

Support emails

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply and keep ordinary support records. Please don't send sensitive personal information. Visits to this website are covered by the LightPath Apps website privacy policy.

Children

The game has no accounts, chat, ads or links to social networks. Google Play handles the purchasing account, payment information and technical billing information under its own policies. Google Play's parental controls and purchase approval settings apply to the unlock. A parent or guardian can contact us with any question.

Changes

If a future version handles data differently, we will update this policy and the Google Play disclosures before that version is released, and change the date above.
