Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 22, 2026
Introduction
LightPath Apps LLC ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This policy describes our practices for the Hitspace app (the "App"). Hitspace is a Quick Look extension that renders developer files — markdown, JSON, code, and YAML — with syntax highlighting directly on your device.
The Short Version
Hitspace does not collect, store, transmit, or share any data whatsoever. Everything happens entirely on your device. We have no servers, no analytics, no accounts, and no tracking.
Data Collection
We collect no data. Hitspace operates entirely on your device. The app does not:
- Access the internet or make any network requests
- Collect personal information of any kind
- Use analytics, crash reporting, or tracking tools
- Create accounts or require sign-in
- Store files or data outside of the preview rendering
- Share data with third parties
How Hitspace Works
When you preview a file using Quick Look (pressing Space in Finder on macOS, or tapping a file on iOS), the system passes the file to Hitspace's extension. The extension reads the file contents locally, renders them as formatted HTML using bundled JavaScript libraries (marked.js and highlight.js), and displays the result. The file never leaves your device.
Third-Party Libraries
Hitspace bundles the following open-source libraries for client-side rendering. These libraries run entirely on your device and make no network requests:
- marked.js (MIT License) — Markdown parser
- highlight.js (BSD-3-Clause License) — Syntax highlighter
Children's Privacy
Since Hitspace collects no data from anyone, it is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever update this policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. Since Hitspace collects no data, we do not anticipate material changes.
